Riyadh is being finished faster than it is being photographed. Districts are handed over, cultural programmes launch, and the visual record is commissioned late or not at all.
Our work in the city spans both halves of the studio: the architecture of the King Abdullah Financial District, and the cultural programming around Noor Riyadh and the Tuwaiq Sculpture programme. Those are different disciplines with the same underlying requirement, which is knowing what the work is about before pointing a camera at it.
Production in Saudi Arabia has its own logistics: permissions run through different authorities than the UAE, aerial clearance goes through GACA, and lead times on secured sites are longer. We plan against that rather than around it.
Riyadh anchors the central region, and most commissions here extend beyond the city itself. We work out to Diriyah and the At-Turaif heritage district, the Qiddiya development, King Salman Park, and the wider Najd. Travel within the region is straightforward from the city, so a Riyadh shoot often absorbs surrounding locations on the same schedule.
