Creative Direction

Creative direction is the part that decides whether a body of work holds together. It is the difference between a campaign and a set of deliverables that happen to share a logo.

Who this is for

Brands running work across several producers who need one visual standard.

Developers whose scheme spans identity, film, photography and sales material.

Institutions building a long-running programme rather than a single campaign.

How we approach it

We define the idea tightly enough that other people can execute against it without us in the room.

Direction here is not a moodboard. It is the standard applied at every review point, including the ones where it would be easier to let something through.

What creative direction covers

At the start, it is the definition: what this work is about, what it looks and sounds like, and what it will not do. Through production, it is the judgement applied to casting, location, framing, grade, typography and cut.

Across a programme it is consistency: making sure the sixth piece still belongs with the first, particularly when different teams have produced them.

Working with existing teams

We are often brought in to direct work that other studios will execute, or to hold the standard across an in-house team and several suppliers. That works best when the direction is agreed before anyone starts producing, rather than applied as a veto afterwards.

What a commission includes

Review standard
A consistent bar at every approval point.
Supplier direction
Briefing and holding standard across other teams.
Programme consistency
Keeping a long-running body of work coherent.
Where we work

We take creative direction commissions across the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, and across Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, AlUla, NEOM and Diriyah. Travel, permits and local crew are arranged as part of the production.

Frequently asked

Yes. Directing across in-house teams and external suppliers is a common arrangement, and works best when agreed before production starts.

It can be either. Some clients commission direction alone; on our own productions it is included rather than a separate line.
