Following the Light From the Artist's Studio to Opening Night

The production approach for Noor Riyadh was unlike any standard event coverage it began long before the festival grounds were built and stretched across continents before a single light installation was switched on in Riyadh. The mandate was total follow the story of Noor Riyadh from its very first spark, and don’t stop until the city was glowing.

That journey started internationally travelling to meet the artists in their own environments, filming intimate one-on-one interviews that captured their creative vision, their process, and what it meant to bring their work to Saudi Arabia. These pre-festival films were never just talking heads; they were character studies portraits of artists at the intersection of light, space, and emotion. Filmed in studios, workshops, and personal spaces across the world, they gave the festival a human depth that no amount of event footage alone could achieve.

The goal of Noor Riyadh was dual in nature, and the production strategy was built to serve both with equal ambition. On one hand, the festival was a gift to the people of Riyadh an invitation to experience world-class light art in their own city, across their streets, parks, and public spaces. On the other, it was a declaration to the international arts community that Riyadh had arrived as a global cultural destination.
