Comprehensive 30-day coverage of Tuwaiq Sculpture for the second consecutive year, with video coverage, photography, timelapse, livestream, and event documentation.
Tuwaiq Sculpture is an international symposium presented by Riyadh Art under the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. Each year, thirty sculptors from around the world gather in a purpose-built outdoor studio to carve monumental works from Saudi granite. When complete, the pieces become part of Riyadh’s growing public-art collection and support the city’s vision as an open-air gallery.
Now in our second consecutive year covering the symposium, MassHouse delivered a full-scale production spread over 30 intense days. Every sculptor received dedicated visual documentation, from initial block chipping to the final artwork.
Teaser Films
We produced a series of dynamic teaser films aligned with the symposium’s annual theme and visual identity. These videos featured engaging montages of the artists at work, capturing the early moments as they began carving their stone blocks. Designed to spark interest and reflect the event’s creative spirit, the teasers were displayed across key public locations, including ROSHN Front and the JAX District, setting the tone for the 30-day experience.
Event Coverage
Throughout the month-long symposium, we documented key moments across opening nights, artist outings, formal dinners, and high-profile visits. Our coverage captured the atmosphere and energy of each occasion, balancing human interaction with the sculptural environment. From intimate gatherings to large-scale receptions, we used a mix of ground and drone footage to reflect the scale and setting of each event, offering a comprehensive view of the cultural and social fabric surrounding the symposium.
Daily Video Coverage
Each day, we captured behind-the-scenes moments, capturing hands-on carving, artist interactions, and the evolving atmosphere throughout the event. These videos were used across social and web channels to maintain ongoing audience engagement.
Interviews
Our team recorded conversations with key figures: artists, curators, VIP visitors, and ambassadors. These interviews bring personal perspectives, adding depth and context to the creative process.
Timelapse Videos
We installed 30 timelapse units – one per sculptor – to visually document each step of the process. These reveal dramatic transformations as each artwork takes form from raw granite to finished sculpture.
Panel Discussions, Workshops & Visits
We captured the full educational and community program of the symposium, including expert-led talks, curator and sculptor Q&A sessions, hands-on workshops for visiting school groups, and guided tours for VIP delegations and cultural institutions. Our coverage documented live reactions to the artworks, practical learning moments for students, and key interactions between participants and artists, highlighting the event’s broad reach and its commitment to public engagement.
Live Streaming
We provided daily live streaming of all sculpting activity, broadcasting directly from the JAX Creative Space to social media platforms including YouTube and Instagram. This real-time access allowed audiences to follow the artists’ progress from raw stone to finished sculpture, deepening public engagement and highlighting the symposium’s commitment to openness and artistic transparency.
The final deliverables form a rich visual archive of Tuwaiq Sculpture, capturing individual artistry and collective scale while showcasing Riyadh’s commitment to cultural innovation.
