About the 200/20 Binghatti Photography Award
Binghatti is known for bold, distinctive designs that combine modern innovation with cultural heritage. This year’s competition challenged photographers to interpret these architectural features in creative ways. The goal wasn’t just mere documentation but to tell a story through powerful imagery.

Shoayb’s photograph delivered that vision beautifully. Captured at sunrise on a foggy morning, the image reveals a Binghatti tower rising through the mist, perfectly aligned with the first light of day. This striking composition balanced light, timing, and architectural form to create a surreal yet design-driven scene. It elegantly showcased Binghatti’s unique architectural language.
Behind the Lens: Preparation Meets Opportunity
This image wasn’t just a lucky moment. In the weeks before the competition, Shoayb carefully studied Binghatti’s towers, scouting the best angles and vantage points. He even rented apartments within the buildings to secure the perfect location.
When the fog season arrived, he adapted his plans quickly, using the rare atmospheric conditions to his advantage. The final image is a testament to thoughtful preparation, creative intuition, and perfect timing.
A Platform for Storytelling in Architecture
The 200/20 Binghatti Photography Award celebrates photography that captures narrative design. Shoayb’s work reflected this beautifully, showing how a single frame can express both the structure’s presence and its emotional impact.
A Proud Moment for Masshouse
The award ceremony, hosted by Dubai Design District (D3) with the support of Dubai Culture, brought together leaders in design, architecture, and photography. Shoayb’s achievement adds a meaningful chapter to our studio’s ongoing pursuit of impactful, visual storytelling.

At Masshouse, we believe images do more than capture beauty. They convey intent, spark curiosity, and deepen our connection to design. This recognition reflects our commitment to producing work that invites people to experience the built environment in new, meaningful ways.
